Dr. McCann is a native of Ottawa, ON. He attended the University of Western Ontario and completed an Honours degree in Physiology and Psychology in 1981. He then entered the Dental Program at the same university and completed the DDS degree in 1985. Upon graduation, he entered the Canadian Armed Forces as a Captain, and served in Chatham, NB and National Defense Medical Center in Ottawa. Upon completion of his military commitment in 1989, he entered the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesia program at the University of Toronto. This four year residency program involved rotations through the Toronto Western and General Hospitals, as well as the Wellesley and Sick Childrens Hospital. He completed the program in 1993 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in the same year. He associated in Cambridge, ON until December, 1994. At that time, he purchased an existing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in Waterloo, ON. He is currently on staff at St. Marys General Hospital, and Grand River Hospital. He is a member of a number of regional, provincial and national associations. On several occasions he has served as an examiner in the section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He has also served as a clinical demonstrator in the graduate Oral Surgery clinic at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry.
Kevin and his wife Pamela live in the Kitchener-Waterloo area with their children Lindsay and Sean. In the little spare time that is left after work and two active children, they enjoy sailing and downhill skiing.
